Since I was a child, I loved art classes, I think I was born to pour my energy into artistic activities. In kindergarten, I already did things that delight me until now. In elementary school I stayed after classes as long as I could in the art club. Then I chose art class in middle school and high school, and then I went to art studies, although I was preparing to study architecture – I loved drawing architectural.
Nevertheless, I changed my job and selected to study at the Academy of Fine Arts, and I am still connected with art. I studied Design – product design and visual communication, although I am more and more interested in manual and craft activities, I appreciate the direction I have picked. I studied design in 3D and 2D and I still find it useful.
***It's always a challenge for me, designing the visual communication of the entire brand is associated with great responsibility. It is critical for me to create and illustrate the true history and assumptions of the brand. I like the initial process of creating the identity, the stage of searching, assembling mood boards, choosing a stylistic direction and finding the brand language. Then comes the design process and this is the most stressful moment for me – when it comes to graphic design, I set the bar very high and demand a lot from myself.
I do not decide on projects where someone only wants a logo design or one graphic from me. I believe that the profession of a graphic designer is to craft a creation for the history of the brand, which is essential in designing. I always want the entire identification to be consistent. I like all stages of work on the graphic design, deciding a typeface, creating KV graphic elements, etc. And the best gift is to see the entire visual identity where you know that each element is coherent and well-thought-out.
A brief from the client is a very influential element of design, it helps to meet on a common design path and meet the needs of the client. Cooperation often depends on the type of client, I try to quickly assess whether I can find a project with the client, I do not accept projects that I do not feel, and I know that our visions are divergent. Admittedly, I had several unsuccessful collaborations on visual identification, and it was a very difficult process for both parties.
It also happened to me that the client, after an agreed brief, the first approved mood boards and design proposals, changed his mind about the appearance of the identification in the middle of the project. Fortunately, I find myself more and more frequently with clients who know what to expect from me.
The profession of a graphic designer is very popular. It would be nice if every graphic designer created in “their own style”, I don't like when the work of a graphic designer is reduced to “you're a graphic designer, so you will forge everything I want”. It would be delightful if we stood out and found each other stylistically with the right clients. Then there is also a chance to create a good project so that the brief and requirements are met, but also not to kill the creative vision.
I have always taken this into account, it is an essential element of company communication for me. I had not cooperated with copywriters before and had to deal with it myself. Although it should not be within the scope of my duties, sometimes the client also provided texts, but they were not always as good as texts or slogans created by professionals.
Since working with you, I appreciate the content creator role even more when creating identification. I believe that this is a crucial element that should not be dealt with by the graphic designer himself. A good copywriter greatly facilitates and improves the work of a graphic designer! You can see more about it in a Next Gen case study. Thank you for being here! :)
All! I love traveling and walking my dog around cities around the world. I draw a lot of inspiration from the “street”, I see the beauty of architecture, architectural elements, street art. I also like to be inspired by the projects of other artists, craftsmen and designers.
I browse plenty of books, albums, as well as these virtual collections like Instagram, Pinterest, Behance. It is sometimes disastrous because I fall into a whirl of great projects and I feel that I will not reach this level. But then again, over the years I see that I have developed a lot and I want to develop further, break barriers and create even better projects.
Now I understand that everything comes with time, development too! It is a long but significant road!
